Key Ingredient Algae Species:
Red Seaweeds
Chondrus Crispus:
A small, branched, reddish-brown algae, Chondrus Crispus hydrates, gives an emollient effect and softens the skin. It is also rich in fatty acids and amino-acids.
Lithothamnium:
When ground into small pieces, Lithothamnium acts as a natural exfoliant, while also containing important minerals that help build stronger teeth and bones.
Blue Seaweeds
Spirulina:
Full of the nutritional concentrates like amino acids (help firm and renew tissues), zinc (tissue growth), fatty acids (increase cellular exchanges and fight against inflammation) and beta-carotene (slow aging and improve hydration), Spirulina is 65% protein and is a microscopic seaweed found in tropical lakes.
Brown Seaweeds
Laminaria Digitata:
Recharges the body with minerals while stimulating metabolism and slimming.
Fucus:
Encourages the elimination of toxins which causes a slimming effect and restores weakened collagen resulting in firmer skin.
Undaria Pinatifida:
Known as Wakame in Asian countries, Undaria contains amino-acids which nourish the skin and stimulate cell renewal - giving elasticity and reducing skin aging. Moreover, it contains vitamins that revitalize and fight against free radicals, giving the skin a glowing effect. It is also primarily used to moisturize and give suppleness to the skin.
Himanthalia Elongata:
This seaweed, which measures 2 to 3 meters long, is harvested by hand on the Brittany coasts (France). It contains vitamin C, which gives anti-oxidant properties to the skin and hydrates. Rich in iron and magnesium, it is also antibacterial.
Pelvetia Canaliculata:
Pelvetia Canaliculata is a small brown seaweed found on rocks along the Brittany coasts (France), which grows in fine strips no longer than 15 cm. It contains specific marine isoflavones, discovered for the first time in the algal domain and are anti-oxidants. It protects against hormone disorders and compensates for skin deficiencies linked to aging.
